On September 16th, Lyubomyr was on a counter-offensive mission in the Lyman area with the 125th Brigade of the 3rd Corps. During the mission, Lyubomyr was leading a squad into a trench. As the leader of the unit, he was exposed as the first target for enemy attack. Within minutes, a fiber optic drone flew towards him and stabilized at head-level. Lyubomyr lifted his feet in defense before the drone flew at him - he suffered a direct hit. As a consequence, Lyubomyr lost his left foot and had shrapnel wounds in his right foot, legs, lower back and arm. He was evacuated successfully to a stabilization point and underwent surgery. He was then brought to Lviv where he is now beginning the recovery process.
